The Lunar Vase is covered in a crater-like glaze created through a lengthy process of material experimentation. During firing at 1230°C, chemical reactions within the glaze release gases that form a porous surface of cavities and openings. The process remains difficult to fully control, causing the glaze to react differently with every firing.
Fired at high temperatures, the vase is fully waterproof and suitable for fresh flowers.
