The Lunar Brick is covered in a crater-like glaze created through a lengthy process of material experimentation. During firing at 1230°C, chemical reactions within the glaze release gases that form a porous surface of cavities and openings. The process remains difficult to fully control, making the glaze react differently with every firing.
The clay body acts as a quiet base for the textured surface, allowing the material itself to become the focus of the object. Despite the complexity of the glaze, the form remains simple and restrained, balancing sculptural presence with functionality.
Handmade in Berlin, each piece is individually formed and glazed.
