The Petticoat Pendant Lamp explores the relationship between contrasting materials and perceptions of weight, softness and structure. Crafted from stoneware and finished with a matte white glaze, the ceramic body appears folded and draped, recalling the fluidity of textile despite its solid material nature.
A defining feature of the lamp is the visible pinched seam. Rather than concealing the joining of ceramic elements, the connection remains intentionally exposed, revealing traces of the making process.
Emerging from the ceramic form, a delicate stainless steel mesh introduces a second material language. Light, translucent and flexible, it creates a striking contrast to the solidity of the ceramic.
The lamp is suspended by a slender steel cable, while the electrical cable can either hang freely or be fixed to the ceiling for a cleaner appearance. A small G9 LED bulb concealed within the ceramic shade emits a warm, atmospheric glow through both the ceramic opening and the fine metal mesh.
Each lamp is individually handmade in Berlin, resulting in subtle variations that make every piece unique.
